The problem with the original Mazda MX-5 windshield wiper switch is that the Intermittent function sucks. There are only two settings: Fast and Faster. And when you use them in drizzle the speed is all wrong making the wipers either scrape the windshield when it’s dry or you’re driving with rain drops on the window.
Solution is simple, a bolt on Intermittent Switch from another Mazda, the RX-8 or Mazda6 model. $30 via eBay offer, quick drive down to Linden, NJ and 5 minutes in the garage it was installed.
Perfect match with the spinning intermittent wheel like the multi-function headlight switch on the other side of the column.
