Hey! You want to marshal in Florida in 2015?
Like say… Daytona 24h in January, Sebring 12h in March or the Grand Prix of St. Pete in March? You are invited to register now with the Central Florida SCCA Region (thanks for heads up Mr. Gunn).
The application is here: http://www.cfrscca.org/?page_id=1762
The dates for the events are as follows:
Now a little piece of advice for those of you thinking of doing any of these events for the first time. I love Florida! IF I had an opportunity to move there and live there, I’d be living in Florida right now. But… a clarification must be made. I love South Florida… Miami-Dade (Miami Beach), Broward (Ft. Lauderdale), Palm Beach Counties (West Palm Beach), etc. Daytona Beach and Sebring to some extent can be another world. Especially Daytona in January. The last two years volunteering for the Daytona 24h have been cold, freezing cold. Sebring in March wasn’t much better either. But St. Petersburg was very pleasant as I spent a few days there flying home from Tampa airport after Sebring 12 hour race.
So if I were to sign up for any of the events next year, it would probably be the GP of St. Pete for the first time. Because when I think of Florida, I think of warm and pleasant weather. Not freezing cold… So best of luck to you all considering registering. Have fun!
