While I’m stuck home this weekend, wasting a perfect opportunity to be track side somewhere, my friends are doing a fantastic job of rubbing it in with their racing adventures. Take John for example who along with the rest of the Michigan marshals trio from our last weekend together at Mosport are playing with Vintage cars at Waterford Hills Road Racing Int’l. Check out the photo of a Can-Am car with a GTP racer from the Camel GT era:
My first marshalling experience from the Can-Am series came earlier this year in Australia where I volunteered for the Historics at Phillip Island: http://myroadtrip.net/?p=1975 I have also done a bunch of events in New Zealand working the Formula 5000 events before I knew what those cars were. (Formula 1 with big engines?)
John also shared some more pictures of his GoPro set up:
This is making me more jealous than the race cars. I’ll be in a market for a GoPro starting next week, I think the waiting and wishing is over 🙂
