Today’s project, at a very appropriate time mind you, just after Labor Day I decided to take the 10,000 mile BFGoodrich Sport Comp 2 summer tires and replace them with the all season BFGoodrich Comp 2 A/S which only have 5,000 miles on them (to even our the wear and make both sets last longer).
While this is a pretty routine tire rotation I just wanted to put up a little note about how different the BFG A/S’s feel compared to BFG Sport Comp’s. The A/S tires feel much quieter and give less effort to steering compared to the other set. Besides the compound difference the Sport Comp’s are mounted on my stock 17’s while the A/S’s are on the lighter five spoke 16’s which I bought for the winter. The road noise is noticeably lower, and there is much less effort to turn the wheel. Will be using them for the next five to ten thousand miles likely. Especially over the winter time as our Northern New Jersey roads are bound to degrade with the weather and the pot holes are bound to increase. Hopefully the higher sidewall on the 16’s will handle this nicely.
Thanks to Maxi Max for the help!
