Part 1 of the Memorial Day weekend Road Trip starts at Lime Rock for the SCCA-Pro weekend including Trans Am, Formula 1600, Formula 2000 and VSCCA (vintage).
The weather was awful but this being the Bull Ring (Lime Rock is famous for being a challenging short track) a little rain just made things more interesting. The fastest cars of the weekend were not the big bore, roaring American Muscle of Trans Am, but the puny little Honda Fit powered open wheelers that used to be called Formula Ford. We saw little action at the “Bridge” which is between turn 6 and the downhill turn 7, except for a few spins and a rearended Trans Am on restart. Good fun!
I got to hang out with Tim again so we had a blast… especially on the road trip up to Watkins Glen for Sunday as Lime Rock sees no racing on Sundays (just a car show).
