Wanna buy a Miata? Many Red Soft Tops and MX-5 RF models at Wayne Mazda

Had an opportunity to stop by one of my local Mazda dealers this morning… Happy to see a shitton Miatas on the lot. Lots of 2018’s. Many with that pretty burgundy shade of red rag tops. Also lots of Retracktable Fastbacks too in a variety of colors. If you’re in the market go pay them a visit, I suspect the deals will be better while the snow is still on the ground, summer time prices are perhaps less negotiable for Roadsters. But what do I know?

Here’s some pics…

Notice the ray of sunshine when I whipped the phone out for the pics… it’s like a message from the heavens: “Buy this one!”

And here’s the redhead!

No brighter color than white, is there?

Then again the Mazda reds really pop!

And a sea, as far as the eye could see… of Mazda SUV’s in the holding lot… one day I’ll drive one of those CX-5’s home myself.

I get that gray was the reveal color of the RF, it’s clearly very popular, yet oh so pedestrian, lose car in a mall parking lot kind. I guess that’s why some people like them? I prefer a brighter color though… even white is cooler in my opinion.

Like I mentioned before, lots of red tops in all different color options for the body paint. I like it.

I love when people (Miata owners) claim their car has never seen snow…. Hmmm, suuure! Bet you a cookie few realize what the cars are exposed to before they put it in their garage. These cars have seen so much salt its crazy.

Enough to fit many-a-salt-shakers lol

The SUV grilles, while the design looks ok, I hate the hood overhang.

I still have a soft spot for the CX-7 even though it looks less and less likely that is what I end up choosing in the near future.

That said I’ll definitely go for the last-gen of the CX-5 as the new one hasn’t grown on me yet. Anyway!

This post is about the MX-5 Miata, and if you’re in a market I know where you can buy one. Lots of choice at Wayne Mazda today.

New Jersey Miatas Cruise to Utopia in Hewitt, NJ

A beautiful Saturday to spend the day cruising with fellow Miata owners around Northern New Jersey. Mark from the New Jersey Miatas facebook group organized a meetup in Livingston with a destination in Hewitt in mind, to do lunch at Utopia Grill and Suzie’s Pizzaria. We met at the Livingston Mall in Morris County and zoom zoomed our way up to Passaic County.

A good turnout for a winter event with four NC Miata’s in attendance, three NA’s and one NB along with three miscellaneous cars. The lunch was great too!

Good times!

More cruises to come before it starts snowing…

Sunday Fun Day Cruising Skyline Drive in Ringwood, New Jersey to High Point State Park and Warwick, New York

Today was a fantastic day to go for a cruise… the weather was perfect! Not too hot, not too sunny… not too much traffic on the roads. So my friend Bill and I headed up Skyline Drive in Ringwood, New Jersey towards Wanaque Reservoir, up Greenwood Lake Tpk to Warwick Tpk to Clinton Road in West Milford, down to Route 23 and then up to the High Point State Park. From there we came back down to Route 94 in Hamburg, New Jersey and headed up to Orange County New York where we turned off on Route 17A and down Route 17 back into New Jersey.

Unlike the many trips to Bear Mountain New York this trip was far more laid back, slower speed and through much more residential areas. Bill and I joked we would do a Foodie Tour visiting the many Ice Cream parlors along the way. But the joke turned into a much tastier reality. Because instead of ice cream parlors we actually visited the source for the ice cream at the various Farms which featured proper Ice Cream Shacks and Barns where the fresh ice cream was Oh Sooo Creamy! We stopped for a root beer float in Orange County New York and then again in Sussex New Jersey for some Frozen Blueberry Yogurt. It was so amazing.

And of course I took a million pix:

Lots of cool cars out on the road today like this fat ass Porsche Cayman… obviously a ton of bikes too!

and some good looking British Midgets…

This ’69 was fully restored by the owner who was proud to point out he’s done a cross country road trip in it all the way to Reno, Nevada wow!

The ice cream in this place was amazing. I got a blueberry frozen yogurt and it was finger lickin’ good!

Welcome to New York… again

Welcome back to New Jersey!
