For most of the twenty something years of my life I merely existed, in Singapore I became alive!
I feel like I owe a lot to the little red dot of a city in Southeast Asia, and one company in particular that facilitated my personal growth and development: Potato Productions.
What is Potato?
It’s a tiny firm with a big presence in Singapore, ASEAN and around the world. They got their finger on the pulse of many businesses of which I got to sample but a little taste. After 3,000+ resumes sent before arriving in Singapore on a working holiday visa and only 1 interview that didn’t materialize into anything meaningful, I was ready to give up. Luckily, I tend to fall back on something I know best: ground transportation. And through that job search I ended up with a children’s book publisher for the iPhone iOS Apps platform. Then, dabbled in a little travel and hospitality branch under the Potato umbrella. Did some migration patterns research and all while pursuing my own aspirations to actually get involved in Motorsports personally, a dream come true!
But you know all about my motorsport hobby from the rest of this blog. What may not be so obvious is the courage and inspiration I got to pursue this activity came directly from Potato as a company. I was brought up to be conservative. Not to take risks. My parents see motorsport volunteering as a complete waste of time and money. But I have never been happier in my life doing something that I love. And Singapore more than anything encouraged that mentality. Taking risks. Trying new things. Travel! Letting ideas flourish and pursuing things that seem impossible.
Singapore was the happiest time of my life!
So thank you! Thanks Potato Productions.
